Picking the perfect bouquet can feel quite overwhelming; there are many flowers, shapes, colours and sizes to choose from. Wedding Flower Terminology

Planning a wedding is stressful enough without having to figure out the difference between a boutonnière and a buttonhole (hint: there is none), or a trailing and a teardrop bouquet. To simplify things, we’ve created a glossary with all the terms you might hear or read in your research and wedding flower planning.

Our guide is rather extensive, there is no need to remember everything on the list. Often more than not your florist will understand what you mean from a general description. And of course, if you’ve come across a term that’s not on the list please leave a comment and we will define it for you and add it to the list.READ MORE

Peony Bouquet

Pretty Peony & Peony Substitutes

Stunning on their own, grouped together or among other flowers, there is nothing quite like a Peony. Cultivated for over 2,000 years and prized by flower lovers, Peonies are timeless. They we’re voted by Sydney for Aleena’s bouquet when we did the Morning
Show Luxury Wedding
. We can’t get enough of them, it’s no wonder that Peony’s are our brides most desired wedding flower.

There are many different varieties of Peonies, the more popular varieties are the double forms. Peonies come in either a single form with 5 or more petals and a fluffy yellow centre or in a double form with ruffled petals.
Colours include white, pink (most fragrant blooms), peach, scarlet red and dark maroons, as well as a rare yellow.READ MORE

Helen’s Note 2013

I am very excited going forward in 2013. With a talented team of florists beside me, who will get the job done in sickness and in health. Thank you so much for not letting me down.

I have heard many stories from distressed brides calling me so close to their wedding date, whereas the florist has cancelled their booking and left them without a florist. I am very fortunate to have a team of three
talented wedding florists. When booking your florist, do ensure they have a risk plan. If their van breaks down, do they have a back up plan? Should they fall ill, who will design your wedding flowers?

Helen’s Note 2012

Wedding season like Spring is just around the corner. I am very excited and cannot wait to start designing with flowers.
