Frequently
Asked Questions

What areas do you service?

We deliver and set up weddings and events in the Sydney Metropolitan Area.

We also have limited availability for weddings outside of these areas, such as, the beautiful Hunter Valley and Bowral regions. To check that your wedding date and location is available for booking, simply email us with your wedding date and locations.

Do you only do weddings?

Weddings are our speciality but we also design flowers for other events such as; Engagement Parties, Christenings, Birthdays, Corporate Events and Functions, and reception/office flowers. To find out more about our events flowers, please send an enquiry or phone us on 02 8964 9285.

We also deliver ‘Everyday Blooms’ which you can order online at Style & Blooms.

Do I have to meet with you in person?

No. Our obligation-free consultations are a personal experience designed to ensure that we understand what your floral vision and to allow us to showcase our portfolio and stocks in real time. We will often let you feel different pew ribbons and give you sample bouquets to hold in the mirror for sizes. You can also see our range of hire items in person, from wishing wells to small and large vases, and how big (or petite) they look with blooms. We highly recommend you make the time to meet with us in person if you’re not sure about your floral vision.

However, we have designed many weddings without meeting in person and are more than happy to discuss your flowers over the phone, email or via Skype. In this case, we recommend you send through images of what you would like, or, flowers and themes you’re imagining. Whether you know exactly what you want or have a good idea but need a little advice; we can definitely help you without meeting.

What if I don't know what flowers I want?

It doesn’t matter if you know every detail you would like, only have a rough idea or have no idea at all (what are peonies, even?!). We are more than happy to assist you in finding the perfect style to suit your special day and budget; our creative staff have years of experience and are more than happy to make suggestions.

We recommend having a look through our gallery for inspiration, and, if possible, making the time to meet with us for an obligation-free consultation. To get started, give us a call or send a message with your event/wedding date, venues, we can guide you from there.

I'm not sure what a round posy/natural stem is?

We’re more than happy to answer all your questions via email but if you’re not quite ready to email we have written a guide on wedding flower terminology that may help you.

How far in advance do I need to book?

It’s always a good idea to meet with suppliers as soon as you can. Although, you should have your date and venues confirmed. As a guide for weddings: between 3 and 9 months before the day is generally a good time to book your wedding florist.

Is a deposit required?

A 20% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your wedding or event date. We limit the number of weddings and events we do per week to ensure that all of our floral orders have the attention they require and are designed and delivered flawlessly. However, we do welcome changes to your wedding floral order up to three weeks prior to the wedding date.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payment methods accepted include direct transfer, cash, credit card (including Amex), cheque or money order.

Credit card payments incur a 2% processing surcharge per transaction.

Do surcharges apply to certain wedding dates?

Weddings the week of New Years Day, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day incur a 15% surcharge due to market flower price increases.

Do surcharges apply to certain flowers?

Some flowers have a higher market price, such as David Austin Roses, Tulips, Peonies, Phalaenopsis Orchids and Cymbidium Orchids and therefore may incur a small surcharge. We have long established relationships with a number of flower growers and have a dedicated flower buyer sourcing only the highest quality blooms, in turn, we’re aware of market changes well before your event date. If the flowers you’ve selected have a higher market price, we’ll include this within the pricing on your quote or if you prefer, we’ll suggest some substitute blooms.

How do I care for my delivered bouquet?

We take the utmost care when creating and subsequently packing and delivering your bouquets and accessories to you. We hand select the highest quality and freshest flowers at the markets, however, cut flowers especially those out of water will not last forever.

When they arrive, until your ceremony or photos start try to ensure that you keep them in a cool area out of direct sunlight. An air-conditioned room is best. Bumping them will cause bruising on some varieties of flowers, so we recommend you avoid handling your bouquet as much as possible (until the festivities begin).

If you’d like to hang on to your bouquet after the event, you can unwrap the ribbon and place bouquets’ stems in water. Of course we often have brides ask about preserving their bouquets after their special day; we highly recommend Treasured Bouquets.
